Despite protests from all over the nation, Union Health Ministry is going ahead with it's plans to introduce BRMS/BRHC/BRHS course. The Course is a retrograde move in medical education,There are other options available to develop Rural Health care..

The Union Health Ministry backed MCI's proposal is going to benefit Education Barons rather than Our Rural Population..

To protest against the Union Health Ministries move to introduce BRMS/BRHC/BRHS course, We are going on Hunger strike on 16th April 2010,at Tehsil Office Pathardi.

PRESIDENT

NIMA PATHARDI

MEMORANDUM SENT TO THE HEALTH MINISTER OF INDIA
1st January 2010

To,

The Health Minister,

Government of India

Sub : Regarding the proposal of MCI & Health Ministry to start new course for rural health

Respected sir,

We came to know from news paper reports that MCI & Health Ministry are going to start new three & half years course (BRMS) for rural health.

Sir, we are BAMS & BHMS general practitioners in Maharashtra. Most of us are from rural background and practicing in rural area since last 10 to 20 years.

BAMS practitioners are allowed to practice modern medicine under Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1945 Sec 2ee, in Maharashtra.

Sir, we are competent to provide proper health-care in rural area. We are also ready to undergo any qualifying test or training, if Ministry thinks so.

According to us there is adequate number of general practitioners in rural Maharashtra, and there is no need to start three & half years BRMS course as far as Maharashtra is concerned..

With regards..

PRESIDENT,

NIMA, PATHARDI

IT IS TIME TO INTENSIFY OUR AGITATION & FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS

I t is good thing that debate started on " Rural Health Care"…

but it is on wrong path, the MCI proposed BRMS ( now named BRHC),The course will benefit education barons & not the rural population. The private medical colleges are run by politicians & the medical councils have strong influence of politicians on them. The "new dukakdari"  will now start & the runners of this shop will be education barons, bureaucrats & so called professors…

We have to strongly oppose this course, the AYUSH students in UP ,Chattisgarh,Karnnataka & Mahrashtar are on strike..

Unani colleges are on strike..

we have to intensify our agitation & have to communicate with BAMS/BUMS/BSMS/BHMS college students..

It is the the right time to fight for our legal rights…protest against this BRMS/BRHC course & TO GET RESPECTABLE POSITION  IN MAIN STREAM MEDICINE,WHICH WE DESERVE

we are bright practitioners/students, we have not taken admission to these courses out of love for ayurveda  or homeopathy..

But to become  general practitionerS.

We are able to provide proper health care at GP level..we are ready to prove it any time…

But lastly...

keep away the advocates of Ayurveda  & Homeopathy  from this agitation..

Let's Unite To Provide Better Health Services For Our People..!!!

Nationalize All The Private Medical Colleges & Upgrade All BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/BSMS Colleges to MBBS..                      Provide Uniform Medical Degree in India..!

We hereby request to

Hon,President of India,

Hon,Prime minister of India,

Hon, Health Minister of India

& All the Hon, MP's from Rajyasabha & Loksabha

to seriously think on "Nationalization of Medical Education"...

1)Medical Education should be on the top of priority list of Govt of India,it is as important as Defense. No privatization should be allowed in Medical Education..

Privatization of medical education started in 1953,

& now every big politician owns a Medical College .

Those who cant own medical college, own BAMS or BHMS colleges..

management quota seats are literally sold

Medical Education is now a market, where those who have lot of money can get admissions

Truly worthy students are deprived from getting medical education, in this Bazar.

Those who invest money for education naturally tries to put out the invested money with interest, they are going to accept freebies & gifts fromthe Pharma companies, no matter MCI's Ketan Desai  bans it.

True Medical professional  needs Empathy, Emotions & Ethics in his heart.

Privatization of Medical Education kept all these words into dictionary

2)Upgrade all the existing BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BSMS colleges to MBBS & provide them with necessary infrastructure.

3)Existing BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BSMS practitioners should be upgraded to MBBS by offering them refreshing course in medicine & pharmacology through CME centers at Taluka/Tehsil level. The CME centers at Taluka/Tehsil level should be provided with recent advances in technology like video conferencing.

4) Government's job is to provide/ensure proper health care to it's citizens & not to promote the different pathies, hence AYUSH dept. & CCIM &CCH should be scrapped.

& Uniform scientific medical syllabus should be applied in the Nation,

Ayurveda, unani & siddha would be offered as optional subjects,as they have the Indian origin & should be considered as potential resource  for research in main stream medicine.

Thanx with Regards

Loksabha to discuss BRMS issue after protests from MP's..

New Delhi : Speaker Meira Kumar today said the Lok Sabha will have a discussion on the issue of the new degree course of 'Bachelor of Rural Medicine and Surgery' (BRMS) in the wake of widespread protests from not just the Opposition but from Treasury benches as well.

The government was hard put to explain the viability quotient of its ambitious programme after widespread protests were witnessed in the House against the government's ''hasty and retrograde move'', as the Opposition termed it, to introduce the new degree course.

In a defensive reply to the onslaught by members cutting across party lines, on the government's move to introduce the BRMS for the rural folk which would create a discriminatory 'second-grade' batch of doctors, Minister of State for Health Dinesh Trivedi said the plan would revolutionise health services in rural India and bring treatment to the doorstep of the villagers 24X7.

To criticism that a similar programme earlier had failed and opposed ever since, the Minister said the course had been discussed and approved by experts, seconded by chief ministers of various states and widely welcomed by people.

When confronted by P C Chako, Congress, that the idea would produce 'half-baked' doctors, who would not be allowed to treat serious diseases, and was a retrograde step in health imparting, Mr Trivedi said there was no question of compromising on merit and experts have gone into the merits and demerits of the issue.

''It will bring 1.47 lakh doctors to rural areas,'' he said adding that ''However, it was upto the State governments to accept the programme or not.'' When still loud protests showered from all corners of the House, for a proper discussion on the matter as it was a ''serious issue'' and most members had reservations on the programme, the Speaker intervened and assured the Lok Sabha that ''as all members of the House were concerned over it, a discussion on the topic would be allowed later''.

AAJ KI STRIKE HISTORY BANA DENGE                                                           JO NAHI HUA 60 SALONME..                                                                        WOH KARKE DIKHAYENGE..!!!        INKILAB ZINDABAD..!!!

HIGHLIGHTING MOTIVES OF THE STRIKE (BANDH)

There is no need of BRMS Course as the AYUSH doctors are serving efficiently in the Rural India. In India, doctor population ratio is nearly about WHO recommendation if AYUSH doctors are considered.

But neglecting these facts The Central Government is going ahead with the plans of starting the course from the coming educational year.

Annually Rs.6000 Crores will be unnecessarily spent on this course.
District Civil Hospital are going to run this courses, but as we know the State Machinery can not run the hospitals properly. How can they sustain with extra burden of running educational institutions..?
Ultimately these institutions will go into the hands of Private Players..
.
.
That is why I am saying...

BRMS Cousre is "brain child" of Ketanbhai Desai..

"New "dukandari" in Medical Education..!

It is for

THE BENEFIT OF EDUCTION BARONS..
&
NOT FOR OUR RURAL POPULATION.."

So friends Wake Up &
